Deeply touched I was looking for words. Words that could express my experience. Klaus Ferdinand Hempfling KFH did not need the words. He looked into my eyes and said I could remain silent. He was completely right. Words would only be a clumsy approach that could cloud the deep impression that might keep me away from the deep resonance.

Now, some months later I am writing of my encounter, with KFH /Ferdinand Klaus Hempfling and the way he deals with the fields of power around him. The power he  works with are horses. He enabled me to feel something of that power. It was apparent that Klaus is doing is a lot more than to making horses listen.

Ferdinand Klaus/KFH, stood in the middle of an arena. The audience was sitting on a tribune, outside the fences, full of attention. There were lots of people from the press and many observers from far and wide The attention did not phase him. No showy, look-at-me persona; just a modest, humble man full of integrity. He came to explain something. This something is about being in touch and the Art of Being. I experienced a man, present with his entire soul. He had the walk of a calm horse and was completely in contact with the earth, the surroundings and with himself. He was aware with his whole body, in touch through subtle sensations, vibrations. His head was sometimes a bit bent, he had a calm and deep voice and controlled movements.

During our interview Klaus spoke about “not to want”. ‘Not to want’ has a connection with Being, letting go, awkwardness and surrender to the moment itself. Some people associate letting go with in dropping everything, this is not true letting go but fleeing. Letting go has to do with making a connection and becoming fully accepting of all there is, not to judge if it is good or bad but that it just is. Then there can be a real connection. Making a connection is a process that demands we become fully awake and we are constantly fine tuning our awareness. If the connection is there then a wider reality appears, one where everybody is allowed and able to Be.

We human beings have fears, projections, dilemmas, many convictions and beliefs. We colour our awareness, our souls and this stands between real contact with  ourselves and with the other. To become really connected we need to ask why we colour our life stories. In Klaus’s view every horse owner should be soul searching. The more we are able to free us from our personal dilemmas, the better connection we get to ourselves and the others. This is obviously not only valid for horse owners, but for everybody looking for a real connection.

Ferdinand Klaus Hempfling (KFH) showed us in a marvelous way, how he is able, by being really in touch, open, connected, and free from dilemmas, to build a relationship with the horse in a very short time. He read the subtle signals from the animal and did not force a thing. He stayed concentrated and awake and took every possibility to strengthen the connection. He created space for the animal to choose to come to the man. It was as if he was simply fully open with the horse. Silently he said: ”You are free to come, I will not grab.” In just a very short time a deep bond of trust appeared. I was touched as the powerful black stallion put his head in Klaus’s neck. The horse felt safe and out of this trust the horse was listening and did things he dared not do before. Klaus remained fully aware, intensely in touch with which step he could take next with the horse. The animal was big, black and strong, Klaus had no fear. When I asked him later how he did it his answer was: ”It just happened”.

Klaus showed us is not about tricks and games, but about Being. For me he became an important source of inspiration for all the connections in my life,
